Onboarding · Part 1 of 2

Client intake

Tell us about the business.

Write like you talk. Short, specific answers beat polished ones.

“We answer the phone in under 10 minutes, 7am to 7pm” is worth more than “we pride ourselves on responsive customer service.”

Only the 13 marked essential hold up the build. Everything else makes the site better — fill in what you can.

0 of 13 essentials filled in

01

The basics

Including which days you actually answer the phone — that is the part that matters.

More detail — optional, but it makes the site better

And which one customers see.

It changes how we handle it — a home address usually should not be published.

02

Where you work

More detail — optional, but it makes the site better
03

What you sell

For each, one plain-English line on what the customer actually gets.

More detail — optional, but it makes the site better

Jobs you turn down or refer out. This saves you calls you do not want, and makes the site more credible, not less.

Only if you are willing to show it. If not, say so and we will handle pricing a different way.

04

Who calls you

Be blunt. This is the most useful answer on the whole form and we will address it head-on.

More detail — optional, but it makes the site better

Homeowner, property manager, GC, insurance?

Cost, mess, timeline, being taken advantage of, someone not showing up?

05

Why you

Which, and can you provide certificates?

More detail — optional, but it makes the site better

Concrete only.

06

What happens after someone calls

Step by step: who answers, how fast, what happens next, how the estimate works, what the customer has to do, how long the job takes, how they pay. This usually becomes the single biggest driver of people actually calling — customers hesitate because they do not know what they are signing up for.

07

Proof

More detail — optional, but it makes the site better

Yelp, Angi, Facebook, BBB, Nextdoor.

First name and city if possible.

08

Photos and brand

Usually the difference between a site that converts and one that does not. Before-and-after pairs of your own real work outperform every stock photo ever taken, and no amount of design makes up for their absence. Phone photos are completely fine — 30 mediocre real photos beat 5 perfect stock ones.

Roughly how many, and of what. If you have none, say so NOW rather than later — the options are (a) shoot some on your next few jobs, we will tell you exactly what to take, (b) we license stock, which costs money and looks like stock, or (c) we design around the gap. In that order.

More detail — optional, but it makes the site better

If not, we will propose some.

Real faces on a real jobsite. Trust for home services is largely "does this look like a real person who will show up".

09

Your current website

Skip this section entirely if you do not have one.

Please actually try rather than assuming. This is the single most common thing that delays a launch, and "my last web guy set it up" is a two-week problem worth starting on now.

More detail — optional, but it makes the site better

"No" or "no idea" is a completely normal answer — we will set them up. Granting us access is on the access page, not here.

We keep those addresses alive — a ranking page whose address changes silently loses its ranking.

10

Taste

More detail — optional, but it makes the site better

Any industry, and one line on why.

Auto-playing video, popups, sliders?

11

What the site is for

Call, fill out a form, book online, request a quote?

More detail — optional, but it makes the site better

Your phone, an email inbox, a CRM?

Honest answer: only useful if it gets maintained.

12

Legal and messaging

Appointment reminders, quote follow-ups, anything. If yes, the site must carry an SMS section in the privacy policy and a consent checkbox with the exact wording carriers expect — without it, registration for business texting gets rejected. It is much cheaper to build in now than to retrofit.

If it is, that wording may be load-bearing for compliance — send it to us rather than letting us rewrite it.

Never type a password into this form.

We do not need one, we will never ask for one, and there is no field here that wants one. Giving us access is a separate page and it works by adding our email address to accounts you already own.

Done here? Part 2 is access — that is the one that unblocks the build.
